Hey beautifuls!
So here are my foundations. These are just a few that I picked that I wanted to talk about! I'm aware that some of them are empty and look gross but they're either there because I there's a little bit left of if they're Mac it's because I'm saving to do the back2mac scheme. If you don't know what that is it's basically you save 6 bottles of product that you've already used for example, foundation, concealer, powder, MSF etc... And you can take them back to any participating Mac store or counter and recycle them, in return you get a free lipstick! I think that's an amazing thing to do! You're recycling and getting a new lipstick st the same time! Everybody wins!
So here he have a foundation which is exclusive to superdrug, it's by a brand called B. Which I believe is a superdrugs own brand! This is a very good brand! It's not too cheap but not too expensive. I have a fair few products from this range and the foundations are one of my favourite things! This is the full coverage foundation and it is very good coverage. It is SPF 15 so it's a Daytime foundation. If you wore this on a night out, any flash photography would make your face appear very white because of the SPF. I tend to wear this for work, I'm a dog groomer so it isn't exactly the most glamorous job in the world, so wearing my best foundation is just a waste because I get soaked and it all comes off anyway. This foundation retails for £10 but the brand has a 50% off sale very often so I've only ever paid £5 for each bottle and I've repurchased this 4 times as I use it every single day that I work. Overall I do really like this foundation but it wouldn't be one I would grab to go on a night out.
Next we have MAC studio fix fluid. This is one of the most talked about foundations in the online beauty world. It is absolutely amazing, very high coverage and it lasts all day. However this foundation is THICK. Think of how thick you're thinking and times it by 5. It can clog your pores very easily and is not designed for oily skin so If you have oily skin please stay away from this! Well by all means try it but at your own risk. This is known to cause breakouts. It didn't break me out as such but it did cause me lots of little spots and it did clog my pores, even after applying a primer. This also has SPF 15 so again I wouldn't recommend wearing this if you're going to be around flash photography. I do love this foundation and once I use it all I will repurchase but I don't grab for this on a everyday basic, a few times a month I reckon. This retails for £22 and I think for a Mac foundation that's amazing as you don't need to use a lot every use. Overall, I would recommend this but to people to have normal skin type.
So MAC prolongwear foundation is one of my all time favourites!! It has a medium to high buildable coverage and I absolutely love it. It's thick but not studio fix thick. It lasts all day but again it had an SPF of 10. (I know it's empty and looks gross but I'm saving it for back2mac and haven't repurchased it yet... But I will! This foundation along with the prolongwear concealer is the BEST thing since sliced bread, honestly it's a match made in heaven! It retails for £25.50 which is a little more pricey but it's so worth it! The only annoying thing is that with Mac you have to buy the pump separately which is so annoying! Why can't they be free with the bottle? Overall I would 100% recommend this!
Here we have the MAC studio face and body foundation. I was super disappointed with this which I hate to say. So I went into the shop and asked the girl working there for a high coverage foundation. She showed me this, she said it was amazing and will cover any blemishes I may have so I was sold. I normally read reviews on EVERYTHING I buy because if I'm going to spend money on something I want to know if it's worth it or not. Although I didn't read any reviews on this product, now I really wish I did. I was over the moon, bought some other things and then left to go home. Once I got home I wanted to try it so applied the foundation using my real techniques expert face brush and I was thinking 'hmm I can still see redness, this is weird she said it was high coverage' I was building it and building it and building until I thought 'okay I need to read the reviews on this maybe I got a faulty one' so I searched up reviews and all I was seeing was 'light coverage' 'sheer coverage'. I was so angry, she lied to me and said it was full coverage when it clearly was not! Anyway so I went back and she was there and I spoke to her about what had happened and she told me that I wasn't allowed to take it back because i had used it. She then said that I could use it on my legs and I was saying 'girl no, this is too light for my legs because when I go out I like to fake tan ALOT! She wasn't really bothered at all, I was really angry but I just got on with it. I went up to another lady and explained the situation and asked her if she could point me in the direction of a FULL coverage foundation (emphasis on the FULL!!) she was really helpful and I ended up leaving with another foundation which I will come to later on. Anyway, if you want high coverage do not buy this. If you want very very sheer coverage then by all means do. This retails at £22 for 50ML and £29.50 for 100ML. I wanted 100ML but for some reason they didn't sell 100ML in my store. (Weird)
Okay so next is ESTÉE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR foundation. I absolutely love this foundation! My boyfriend bought this for me for Christmas because I was talking about it for agessssssss. Every time I went on a night out I would see girls whose foundation looked completely flawless so many times I went up to these girls and asked what it was that they were wearing, and every single time they would say double wear. So I was sold I HAD to have it. I went into boots to get colour matched and I asked her for her opinion and to tell me which one was my exact colour. I wasn't wearing fake tan or anything so I thought it would be perfect. She matched me as dawn. I don't know if you know which colours are which but dawn is like a dark beige/Ivory colour. In MAC I WEAR NW15 or NC20 so as you can imagine I have very light skin. was absolutely buzzing to get it for Christmas. When I put it on it was way too dark for me, way too dark. I was so annoyed because it's expensive and it was a present! I do like to fake tan when I go out so its amazing to wear then but again it's SPF 10... So no flash photography when I'm out! This retails at £30 and despite the fact that it's too dark I do wear it when I'm tanned and I love it!!
Next we have MAC STUDIO SCULPT I freakin' LOVE this foundation! This is the one I bought when I tried to take back face and body, i came out with this one and I couldn't ask for a better foundation, I love everything about it. I will buy this again and again and again and again, I recommend this to anyone and everyone! It retails for £25.50 and in my opinion you cannot put a price on love :)
Here's the bourjois healthy mix foundation which again is AMAZING! I also wear this for any type of occasion whether that be staying at home, going to work, or going out in the evening! I love love love it! It retails for £9.99 and for that price you really cannot grumble.
Last but not least we have the MAC prolongwear compact foundation. I bought this foundation a little too light for my face so I tend to wear it when I'm just chilling or not really doing much, but it's still amazing I love the compact version of the foundations they dry a lot more matte than the liquid ones. Love this though! This retails for £25.50 and is complete worth the money. It also comes with the sponge which is pretty cool.
So that concludes my most and least favourite foundations. I hope this helped sorry if I rambled too much! But let me know in the comments if you have any of these and whether you like them or not! Also let me know if any foundations I NEED to try!
Lots of love,
Devon xo
